Drishyam 3 has officially secured a ₹10 crore Minimum Guarantee deal for North America, setting a new benchmark for Malayalam cinema in a single overseas territory. The April 2 release now stands as one of the most commercially significant overseas ventures for the industry.
Malayalam cinema records a significant overseas business milestone as Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph, has officially closed a ₹10 crore Minimum Guarantee (MG) deal for North America ahead of its April 2 release.
The North America distribution is handled by Prathyangira Cinemas, while the entire overseas rollout is managed by Phars Films. This makes Drishyam 3 the first Malayalam film to secure a ₹10 crore valuation from North America alone, under an MG structure.
So far, only a handful of Malayalam films have crossed ₹10 crore in total overseas business deals:
L2: Empuraan - ₹30 Cr (Theatrical Advances)
King of Kotha - ₹14 Cr
Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea - ₹12.5 Cr (Revised)
CBI 5: The Brain - ₹10 Cr
Patriot (Yet to Release)
In contrast, Drishyam 3 has achieved a double digit deal from North America alone, marking a new benchmark for Malayalam cinema in a single overseas territory.
With the strong franchise value and the towering presence of Mohanlal, trade expectations remain high as the film gears up for its April 2 theatrical release.
